M.E.A.T was established in 1945 by Mr. A. Lorenzi, starting as a distributor of electric spare car parts. In the beginning of 50s, M.E.A.T. starts the production of carburettors spare parts, segment which starts to achieve more and more weight in the companys strategy.

Moreover, the technological know-how grows inside M.E.A.T. taking in few years to the European leadership in carburettor parts.

In 1985 D.O.RI.A (fuel filters producer) is incorporated. From that moment the company develops in two directions: carburation, nowadays also dealing with fuel injection; and filtration, improved till getting the UNI EN ISO 9002 Certificate in 2000.

 

Lucas was established in 1872, the same year that the petrol engine was first patented. The first Mercedes 'horseless carriage' was still 14 years away and the Ford Model T wouldn't appear for a further 27 years. The business that Joseph Lucas founded in Birmingham, still the global HQ of Lucas today, represents the consistency and durability of Lucas products and has made Lucas one of the most successful automotive brands in history.  The story is brought right up-to-date by the product activities of our many successful licensees, Elta Lighting Ltd hold the licence for the UK and also distribute across Europe and the rest of the world. Lucas has been trading continuously for over 125 years and is world famous as a supplier of premium quality, technically excellent automotive products for both vehicle manufacturers and the aftermarket.
